Playa Santu Pretu
Getting there
The vibe
“Rare dark-sand beach, dramatic & moody”
A rare dark-sand beach with a moodier, dramatic look — black volcanic-style sand against turquoise water. Limited facilities and a bit of a scramble to reach; bring water and decent shoes.

About
A striking little black-pebble and dark-sand cove reached by a five-minute trail east of Playa Santa Cruz. The contrast of dark shore against turquoise water makes it one of the most photogenic hidden corners on the west coast. There are no facilities and shade is limited. Wilder and unequipped; reached by a trail from Playa Santa Cruz.
Getting around
You'll want a car to reach this beach
Curaçao's best beaches are spread across the island and the buses don't reach most of them. Rent from a trusted local company and explore on your own schedule.
